Alright, I promise after this last mention of being a totally-obsessed fangirl of the 90’s I’ll stop chatting about it– here, but I won’t promise talking about it on Snapchat or <a href=”http://youtube.com/thatsbetsyv” target=”_blank”>Youtube. As you know two weeks ago I was giving away tickets to see a 90s Fest, which was just a dream come true. I obviously attended and couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the summer. Just to break it down for you– the 90sFEST a one-of-a-kind festival presented by Nickelodeon and hosted by Pauly Shore returned on Saturday, September 10th at Governors Island bringing guests in the decade’s best music, fashion, entertainment, food and beverages.
Outside of performances by some of the most recognizable names in 90s music including C&C Music Factory, Sister Hazel, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Bone Thugs N Harmony and Sugar Ray as well as cover band, Saved by the 90’s, Nickelodeon’s The Splat brought back the most memorable obstacles and challenges from its hit ‘90s game shows including Double Dare, GUTS and Legends of the Hidden Temple along with surprise visits from beloved Nickelodeon characters, nostalgic sharable moments and of course SLIME. Other activities included a Jazzercise-style work out with Body Roll, a 90s Arcade with classic, pixelated video games and a Bae Watch Beach lounge area.
They had tents set up outside in case of rainfall, but unfortunately it got hot under there and it was surprisingly cooler outside the tent. I loved how the whole field was set up with something; one area had arcades, another had the Legends of the Hidden Temple. They had Pauly SHore hosting which was fun– him and his crazy antics can get anyone hyped. I definitely would’ve loved to have seen more on-stage activities going on. The performances were great, just wish there were more performers. By the way, they’re already working on next years line up! I’ll have a wish list down below. All in all, it was fun going back-in-time reminiscing about our wonderful childhood. So mark your calendars and get geared up for next year’s events!
