I was up and about at 8AM this morning with Baby Z, by the way if you’re wondering why I don’t mention her name it’s because I want to keep that private-for now. Anyways, yes the day started with a cry, a dirty diaper and about an hour of breast-feeding! Breast-feeding is a job in itself! When I was at the hospital I first tried it, it became painful that I would cry and I bled! However, after a few days of trying it Baby Z learned how to latch on perfectly ๐
Many women may or may not breast-feed for whatever reason; can’t produce milk, colicky baby, disease etc. Many also decide they are going to do it and then decided not to. Just like when I stated from the get that I wasn’t going to get the epidural and then cried for it after a day of contractions- things change, you see? I hate breast-feeding because the breasts stay engorged and if you know me I don’t need anymore! The only reason I do it, is because I know its best for her. Also, I don’t breast-feed 100% I supplement with Enfamil. Imagine if I did!? Props to those women who do it around the clock.
I don’t think it should be forced for women to make their babies take their milk. Women are lucky that the hospital provides all the formula during their stay, along with many other wonderful things like diapers!!! (Side note: take everything the hospital gives you plus more). I had heard on the news a week ago that Mayor Bloomberg was making hospitals not give the mothers any milk and force them to breast feed. I was outraged, however, I looked it up to make sure I heard correctly and I was wrong- THANK GOD!
The “wonderful” Mayor Bloomberg is pushing the “Latch On NYC” program where starting September 3rd hospitals will have to hide their milk behind closed doors and have someone speak to the mother of why breast-feeding is the best way to go for the newborn. Formula will not be denied, however, the nurse has to go sign out the formula (who knows how long that can take). Then the nurses will need to write why each bottle is being given to the mother and with every bottle an annoying nurse will come along with it to tell you over and over AGAIN why breast-feeding is best. Apparently, under the program the breast-feeding rate has surged from 39% to 68%. (New York Post)
What are your thoughts?? All I know, is if I was in the hospital and wanted a bottle and I got a nurse in my face every time I wanted it, I would catch a very unique and nasty attitude- might even slap him or her! ๐

Sep 13, 2012 at 8:31 amI have got one idea for your webpage. It seems like right now there are a handful of cascading stylesheet problems while launching a number of web pages within google chrome as well as firefox. It is running fine in internet explorer. Perhaps you can double check that.
