Continuing on with bringing the farmhouse to a New York City apartment here is yet another fabulous post. Since I can’t go all out and refurnish my whole home into the country feel, I’m going room to room with transforming my home. First up was my kitchen– and it was slowly getting there.
Industrial Floating Shelves
Last month I posted up my Amazon Farmhouse Haul with all my new purchases that were going to complete my farmhouse kitchen. Before all those purchases though I decided to finally get shelves to store more in my tiny NYC apartment. I went with wood shelves, but not the kind you get from Ikea– real industrial floating wood shelves. I had gone a couple weeks with trying to find my perfect shelves and finally found it on Etsy! I ended up getting the wood in the color “Earl American” which would match my kitchen table- fro Ikea. You can also customize the size you want with the three sizes they provide– I got the 42″ in length ones that would fit perfectly on my wall.
Ikea dinnerware/glassware
I also decided to get new dinnerware; white round bowls, to go with my white square plates, clear beer glassware and smaller beer glassware. Then I saw these beautiful bamboo bowls and yup I purchased them! Since we are serious cereal lovers and hate how ugly those boxes would make my kitchen look, I purchased 4 cereal storage containers. The last thing purchased at Ikea were artificial flowers–white Gladiolus flowers and long vine plant with white pot. I’m obsessed with plants everywhere!
Amazon purchases
Now to the fun part! Getting all the decor pieces from Amazon! I didn’t go overboard– a nice galvanized metal basket and a rustic sign. I did want more like a market food scale, more plants and more signs, but sometimes a little goes a long way. That– or just wait until I get more cha-ching!
