Tomorrow is the big day! Where some say your vote counts and others beg to differ. The men in the ring are Obama and Romney who for months have been throwing punches. Now, will you be looking for another 4 years with our president or be looking for change?
I for one am not into politics and won’t really say who I’m voting for. I do make my pros and cons known on my social media outlets. However, I don’t think it’s always smart for a celebrity or someone in the media to let it be known especially if the your vote is going against the grain.
As some of you may know just about everyone in the celebrity world is Team Obama and they have been making it known. I didn’t know that there were that many Romney supporters besides Clint Eastwood, Nicki Minaj and Stacey Dash. Stacey Dash an Afro-Latina has been going hard at letting America know where she stands and why. People are in uproar for her decision especially the African American community as they believe it’s a backstabbing to her own people. What I don’t think many people know is that Stacey is not the only minority who is a Republican or voting for Romney. There’s LL Cool J, Greg Anthony, Shyne, Ron king, 50 Cent and so many more who aren’t announcing it to the world. By Stacey publicly making it known and shoving it in people’s faces she has lost a lot of fans. Fans who loved her from her ‘Clueless’ days are firing back with harsh and racist comments. Apparently it’s wrong for someone to exercise their constitutional rights. Who knew!?
In an interview with TheGrio a fellow actor, Vivica A. Fox spoke on Stacey’s endorsement for Romney, “I didn’t know she was a Republican. I will start there, Second, I don’t know why she had to do a photo shoot in a ‘Baywatch’ red swimsuit with the boobs and the whole flag behind her. She doesn’t have a job or something to promote right now. I just didn’t get it.” To be honest I don’t either. I don’t get the point in wearing a swimsuit with side boobs hanging out to show your support, but to each his own right? And if you compare Stacey’s photo with a very distasteful photo of an “actress” LisaRaye supporting Obama you might not completely hate Stacey’s.
Regardless, whoever is voting “against the grain” shouldn’t be attacked. It’s absolutely ridiculous to think people are so small minded and “hurt” that Stacey Dash is voting for Romney. Just because a minority is voting against “their own” doesn’t mean their actually voting against their own. People want change! Change they believe did not happen with Obama and are looking for someone who will make America prosperous again. Who knows if that’s Romney? And who knows if it’s Obama?
Do your research before jumping on the bandwagon with everyone else or because you want to see a black president. Here is a list of pros and cons I found regarding of both candidates views on topics such as gay marriage, abortion, bailout, education, taxes and so on.
