For the premiere of “As Above, So Below” film I was given a graphic tee which I was excited about because then I’d be able to wear it when I went to go watch the film. However, when I got the shirt it wasn’t so pretty. It was those generic t-shirts that people like myself would use for bedtime, but I wasn’t going to let that happen! I had my mind set on wearing the shirt for the early premiere so I had to get to thinking.
Sitting down with my mom we both collaborated on what we could do and my mom stressed to be different and not do designs that everyone else was doing– I was all for it!
The original snipping had the sleeves on and no knot on the bottom, that came after I tried on how we first cut it and I wasn’t pleased with it.
Check out the step-by-step:
I cut the collar since I don’t really like them.
We cut the top collar first then the back of the collar which was higher up then the front one.
Cut down the middle. Fold the shirt to make sure you cut down the middle evenly.
The shirt was also too long for me so I cut the bottom a bit. The original design was for it to be curved on the bottom, but I didn’t like it. Therefore, this happened next–
Made my mom cut the shirt on the side a bit in order to make a knot! If I had known that I was going to knot it on the side I wouldn’t have cut the bottom too much…
The infamous knot that put the whole shirt together!
I’m now officially obsessed with cutting up graphic tees I’m on a mission to find some and make it my own!
