I was elated when closing arguments came to an end on Friday (May 3, 2013) because we are just days, possibly even hours away from finally hearing a verdict for Jodi Arias’ brutal crime.
Closing arguments were a win for Martinez and two thumbs down and a boo for Nurmi. If Nurmi doesn’t like his own client “9 out of 10 times” that just makes me wonder why? Because she’s a manipulative-lying-murderous woman? This trial runs closely to the movie The Devils Advocate– anything for a win.
Now the jury has to choose whether or not to end someone’s life. That’s such a hard job whether to decide you’re basically going to kill someone or not. Wondering whether killing someone would really be justice for Travis or is living in prison for the rest of Jodi’s life sufficient enough? Tough, tough decision and as much as we all hate Jodi I don’t think many of us would really be comfortable with making such a decision.
The jury needs to figure out if they find Jodi guilty of premeditated first-degree murder, which means she will get the death penalty, second-degree murder, or the lesser charge of manslaughter; which no one wants.
If the jury finds Jodi guilty they could make one of the few women on death row. HLN correspondents are speaking on how the death penalty really isn’t all that great of an option because on average once someone is sentenced to death It takes about 12 years to meet the man downstairs.
Lets not forget the hundreds of appeals people try to get when they’re in jail so being on death row will just double that. And once someone is sentenced to death row they automatically get an appeal.
Who would pay for her appeals and new trial you ask? Well Jodi doesn’t have money to pay even for this trial so the lovely people of Arizona have to pay. What a great justice system we have, right? Ridiculous.
According to HLN if Jodi is convicted of 1st degree her life in prison will be limited. Time outside her cell are limited– Jodi would be able to go outside and exercise 3 times a week for two hours, showers 3 times a week and visitation is just a few hours on the weekend. Not that bad I think for a woman who butchered an innocent man. If it were up to me and I was the ruler of the world she’d get a firing squad (just saying).
I honestly believe that Jodi Arias will be convicted of 1st degree not because Jodi is obviously guilty, but simply because of Casey Anthony. There was no justice for Caley Anthony that people will see that the justice system did not work in that case and won’t allow for another injustice to occur. Mark my words! If I happen to be wrong then forget about this paragraph, haha.

May 8, 2013 at 8:30 amWell, I have to say. I did lose faith after Casey. No matter what happened or how it happened, NO ONE goes out partying, smiling, dirty dancing and getting hosed down in a “hot-body contest” after their child dies unless they are thrilled about it. It’s almost as if you get innocence points for being moderately to very attractive. So, people, listen up!! If you want to commit murder in the United States, just be good-looking! You’ll be found not guilty for sure!! If your’re ugly, you’re fucked!! I think we should have testimony recorded in transcripts, then give those transcripts to the jury. That way they can’t see the person or hear them talk. The jury can read the FACTS and testimony, and not pass judgement based on factors such as looks. Just sayin…

May 8, 2013 at 5:56 pmGUILTY!!! Guess we finally have some serious justice. I am so thrilled that, since Travis’s family and friends have no choice but to live without him for the rest of their lives because of what “Borderline” did, at least they can rest in the knowledge that his butcher is behind bars. But does anyone really win? I love u Betsy!!!

May 9, 2013 at 5:38 amBetsy!!!jodis twitter account was shut down!! And most importantly, did u see her fox interview 20 MINUTES AFTER THE VERDICT? !?! If not check it out. Her conviction was “unexpected”. The worst outcome for her would be natural life in prison. She would rather die sooner than later because death is the ultimate freedom, and wants Travis’s family to “remember him how they want to”. Will the jabs at Travis never end?!?! She’ll never let him rest in peace. And POOR JODI because Juan did some “pretty shady things” like “failing to disclose certain things” and “hiding evidence”. Did you know “society has this need to persecute people” for “gratification”. She’s CRAZY!!!

May 9, 2013 at 10:40 amYup! I saw it. She just keeps digging herself a deeper hole bits most definitely reverse psychology. If she speaks I feel like she’s gonna tell her family to shove it and tell them exactly how she brutally killed Travis.
