About a month and a half ago I wrote a post “Smoothie Diet” where I was diving into a diet I read about from Melissa Mesiter who tried it and creator Harley Pasternak.
As soon as I saw how amazing Melissa Meister looked after her baby boy I knew I had to follow– which I did.
First four days were three smoothies:
Breakfast:
5 raw almonds
1 red apple
1 banana
3/4 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
1/2 cup nonfat milk
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Lunch:
• 1 cup frozen raspberries
• 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
• 1/2 orange, peeled
• 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
• 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds (or whole flaxseeds, depending on your blender)
Dinner:
• 2 cups spinach leaves, packed
• 1 ripe pear, unpeeled, cored and chopped
• 15 green or red grapes
• 3/4 cup fat-free plain Greek yogurt
• 2 tablespoons chopped avocado
• 1-2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
You can’t eat anything, but snacks which Harley Pasternak lists in his book and I list a couple at “Smoothie Diet”. Find out how the rest of the diet plan goes as well on “Smoothie Diet” post.
I diet to a certain extent, but never to an extreme. Besides cutting out beef, potatoes and white rice I never took pills or drinks to lose weight so this “Smoothie Diet” was definitely something new for me.
It was extremely difficult. Especially when you still have to cook dinner for your significant other and watch them eat in front of you! The breakfast smoothie is delicious and my fave. The lunch smoothie isn’t too bad, but not my favorite either. Now, as for the dinner smoothie? So disgusting. It was fine at first, but after the first 4 days I couldn’t bear it anymore. As soon as I was able to drop a smoothie I took that one out, haha. Read more details on how the diet goes at, “Smoothie Diet”.
I went from 115 to 110 within the first 5 days. I was officially back to my pre-pregnancy weight and I was ecstatic! I just need to continue hitting the gym to make some flabs tight, but other from that I’m good.
I continue to drink my breakfast smoothie and sometimes my lunch smoothie and continue to make progress. So I’m definitely consigning the “Smoothie Diet”.
Give it a try and don’t be shy to share 🙂
